Ice Cream on Grand: Reviews & Ratings

You can't miss Ice Cream on Grand when driving on Grand, which I suppose makes it a great name. It's a popular spot known for celebrity sightings and great ice cream. Inside is no frills, with pictures on the wall and the majority of the space taken up by the ice cream cases. It's easy to see the flavors and the menu helps you out by noting allergens. I went right after they opened so it was pretty empty, but there have been a few times where I kept driving because it was so packed - and that's with a decent sized parking lot. I got cake batter and marble crunch ice cream with rainbow sprinkles and my sister had chocolate seduction with coffee. The two came to $17, which is pretty expensive, especially considering the size. The ice cream was very good, but not anything particularly special. There are other ice cream spots in Bergen County where you can get ice cream just as good for quite a bit less. I'm not sure I would quite call it gourmet to justify the prices. There are some local places with really unique, delicious flavors that I wouldn't mind paying $8 for a small cup, but this isn't quite that. It was a beautiful day so I sat outside, which is really nice. The landscaping is great and it's a really enjoyable spot to sit and have your ice cream. You definitely forget you're right off Rt. 4 there. I will continue going to Ice Cream on Grand, but for the prices, it won't be a regular visit.

So many flavors! I like that the menu shows which flavors are gluten free, egg free, etc. (although if you have a severe allergy, eat at your own risk because cross contamination is probably still bound to happen). The workers are super nice and will let you try multiple flavors before you decide. There is no seating inside but the outdoor seating is well done with pretty landscaping, picnic tables/benches and umbrellas for shade on hot days. They're closed from late fall to spring, and during peak times in the summer (weekends/evenings) it can get very busy (i.e., parking lot is full and all the outdoor seats are taken). You can usually find free street parking across the street though.

Love love love their ice cream around the neighborhood!! We've been waiting for this place to open for the season and we absolutely love this place and their ice cream selections! My daughter is in love with their cookies and cream ice cream and I'm in love with their walnut ice cream. Kids they work there is very friendly and welcoming every time we visit. Their outdoor seating is always seems so accommodating and clean.

I'm actually disappointed I didn't try this place sooner because the ice cream was so good! I ordered the nutella ice cream within a cake cone and it was one of the most unique ice cream flavors I've had in a while. The texture of the ice cream was soft and creamy and there was also bits of vanilla cake and chocolate in the ice cream as well. 10/10 would recommend and will be back to try all the other flavors. You can also tell with the quality of the ice cream that its homemade. Husband got the dulce de leche ice cream which was equally good. I also really loved that they provide a plastic barrier for your ice cream so that as it melts it does not drip on your hand. Really nice touch especially for the days when its really warm outside and you can't eat your ice cream fast enough. Parking lot can get packed on a nice day but you can always park on the street or on a side street and walk over! There's plenty of nice benches to sit outside the shop to enjoy your ice cream.

I have been driving past this store for over 10 years, finally got a chance to try them out. First of all, they peek interest because of the gorgeous landscape they have during summer. Very colorful and pretty, with shades and benches to enjoy ice cream on blazing summer days. The store remains closed during end of fall to start of spring. At the entrance of the store there's a board with all 30+ flavors they serve. I was amazed at all they types of offerings they have, cup, sundae, cone (cake, sugar, waffle), waffle cup and milkshake. I liked the strawberry and chocolate scoops in my waffle bowl. Ice cream seemed well made. Waffle was crunch and fresh. The store has no place to seat inside. But the store seemed super clean. Servers were super nice and friendly. Had patience with us as we tried to decide on our flavors.

Friendly attentive service. Lovely spot to enjoy some summer fun and memories with friends or family. Safe outdoor dining spaces available. This was my first time here and I really liked everything about this business overall. We had Cookie Dough, Cookie Monster and Butter Pecan; 3 ice creams in waffle cones. All delish. This business would be a "5" if only the prices were better. My cone was $9. Since I purchased 3, this came out to $27. Too steep for ice-cream in my opinion.
